Product FAQs
Tracer2
-
-
Plug your charge cable into a power source.
Press and hold power button.
Plug the charge cable’s USB-C connector into the Tracer2 vest.
In a moment, the indicator lights should show only lights 1 and 4 illuminated.
Please continue to hold the power button for approximately 30 to 60 seconds and then let go of the button.
The main Tracer LEDs (and fiber optics) should blink red once released. If you do not see this, please retry these steps. Please then charge the vest normally.
-
Yes. We’re happy to say that the Tracer2 uses a lithium battery rechargeable via USB-C (cable included).
-
The Tracer2 is rechargeable and IP67 waterproof. The illumination is both brighter and more consistent than the Tracer360; enabled by doubling the LEDs (to 4) and increasing the size of the fiber optic. The illumination can now produce dual-color modes which expands on its ability to make you visible based on visual science. The secure fit adjustable sports strap is made with a custom reflective design that significantly increases reflective area. Finally the Tracer2 is designed to fit more comfortably and includes easy to clean antimicrobial surfaces that contact the body.
-
Plug the included USB-C cable (or any USB-C cable) into a power source and also into the charging port at the bottom of the Tracer2. The charge of the Tracer2 is indicated by (4) charge LEDs located near the charge port and above the button.
-
No, they are all included. Simply press the button to turn it on and then press again to cycle through (8) static modes and (8) flashing modes. Hold the button to turn it off.
-
While the Tracer2 is bright, the illumination is outside of the wearer’s normal field of vision in most cases. If you are running with others, you might prefer to use one of the eight static color modes. However the flashing illumination modes are the most visible.
-
The included USB-C cable is located inside the enclosed compartment at the bottom of the Tracer2 box, just underneath the vest itself.
Tracer Lamp
-
The Tracer Lamp may feel warm/hot to touch depending on how long it is on and which intensity setting is being used. This is normal and the housing and clip attachment will prevent any discomfort while worn.
Warning: The Tracer Lamp produces a high intensity light beam. It is possible to melt, burn, or otherwise damage objects allowed to obstruct the lamp’s focal lens while operating at the 500 lumen high beam.
-
Starting from a full charge, the TracerLamp will run for approximate 2.5 hours on the high setting and approximately 5 hours on the low setting.
-
While charging the Tracer Lamp, the LED indicator will show a solid red light. The charge sequence can take up to about 5 hours to complete if it is fully depleted, at which point the LED will change from solid red to solid green in order to indicate the full charge.
LightHound
-
The LightHound was pull tested to 300 lbs of force and should be strong enough to keep your dog secure.
-
Yes! The lights are designed to with a safety measure to shut off when it gets too cold to prevent damage to the electronics, but the actual operating temperature varies based on how active the wearer is (i.e. how much body heat is being generated) and how long the unit is in use out in the cold. So it can operate in extreme temperatures, but the previously mentioned factors will determine just how long. Generally speaking, a normal outdoor routine will be fine, but it probably won’t last all night. We have received positive feedback from some customers in as low as -50°F.
-
The light housing itself is not waterproof and the electronics will likely be severely damaged if submerged. However, the light housing is removable from the harness which would allow your pup to wear the harness in water.
-
LightHound includes a USB charging cable.
-
From a low or dead state, LightHound needs approximately 4 hours of charge time to reach full capacity.
-
When fully charged, the solid red charge indicator will turn green.
-
The LightHound can typically be used until drained and recharged as needed or recharged after each outing with a negligible difference in long term performance. Your use habits can help determine which is most convenient for you.
Important Note: If lithium batteries in any product are left in a low or dead state for long periods, it can potentially degrade the battery’s cells. This may result in reduced capacity, but in some cases may also cause more significant damage and prevent the battery from charging at all. Noxgear’s products may be often used and kept in a variety of environments with factors (temperature, humidity, etc.) that could effect the battery’s charge. For this reason, Noxgear recommends that batteries within our products be charged fully prior to any long term periods that the item will not be used. Lithium batteries can also naturally decay over time, losing some charge along the way. For added protection, the battery can be checked monthly and charged (if needed) to ensure that if you ever forget to charge it over a long period, or if it is left long enough to drain completely, it will not sit in a dead state long enough to cause significant degradation.
-
If your LightHound is not charging, there may be a few different possibilities for the cause. One possible cause could be that the battery has been inactive for a long period with little or no charge. We built in a potential workaround for this problem by way of a reset.
First though, it’s also good idea to be sure if the cable itself is functioning properly. If you have any other devices that use micro USB input, you can double check the cable on those. Alternatively, if you have another micro USB cable available, you can try it with the LightHound to see if the results are the same.
You can reset the light system by taking the following steps:
- Unplug the power cord completely from the LightHound.
- Make sure the power cord is still plugged into your power source.
- Press and hold the power button.
- While still holding the power button, plug the charge cable into the LightHound.
- Release the power button once the cable is plugged in.
If successful, you should see the red indicator turn on and remain on while the unit charges. The reset does sometimes take multiple attempts to be successful, especially if the light blinks once but does not remain lit.
-
Different color modes require different amounts of power – solid state modes require most power – most efficient power mode is initial flashing mode featuring strobe effect – standard alkaline batteries typically offer the most longevity – be sure to store vest inside and avoid extreme temperatures when not in use – check compartment for any corrosion which can cause batteries to drain quickly, even when not in use.
-
Once the fit has been adjusted, the remaining webbing can be rolled up and secured using the Velcro (wrapping “fuzzy side out”) around the excess material and strap that connects to the harness.
-
LightHound includes a small black thumbscrew that secures the light piece to the harness. If this piece has been lost, please let us know, [email protected], and we’ll send you another.
39g
-
The 39g is 2.6” in length, 1.6” wide with a 0.9” depth (max) (and weighs only 39 grams or 1.4 oz.)
-
When you wear the 39g near your neck and listen at a comfortable volume, others standing just feet away won’t even know it’s on. But if you want to blast it for an entire group, it’s got enough power to do that too. But in that case, you might not want to wear it too close to your head.
-
Yes! IP-67 rated, meaning it’s fine to be splashed or submerged up to 3 feet. Though keep in mind that it won’t sound too great while it’s underwater.
-
Battery life varies based on the volume setting. At a comfortable volume with the speaker worn on your upper body, around 12 hours. At maximum volume, closer to 4 hours.
-
The built-in magnetic clip gives you the freedom to wear the 39g practically anywhere on your clothing, not just on a collar or strap. This ability is especially handy with ¼ zip jackets and hoodies. Just slide the low-profile magnetic clip downward to remove, place it on the inside of your clothing, position the speaker over the magnetic clip and let them snap in to a secure fit.
-
No. Audio can only be played through the speaker from a source device using a bluetooth connection.
-
The 39g has some additional functions that you might have missed in the product manual!
When a call is incoming, press the play pause button to answer the call, or HOLD the play/pause button to cancel an incoming call (send to voicemail).
While on a call, HOLD the Backward button (|<<) to mute the call (silence your microphone). HOLD again to unmute.
The following button combinations can be input while the 39g is idle (on but not actively playing media or connected to a call).
- HOLD Play/Pause and Volume up (+) to hear the current battery level.
- HOLD Play/Pause and Forward (>>|) to toggle the blue LED indicator on/off.
- HOLD Play/Pause and Volume down (-) to forget paired devices.
- HOLD Play/Pause and Backward (|<<) to disconnect from the currently paired device (does not forget the pairing).
